Our program is open to learners aged 10 and older with at least a basic understanding of English. You don’t need to be fluent — just motivated to improve.
Yes! Langum is a volunteer-based, non-profit initiative. There’s no cost to participate.
You’ll be matched with a volunteer and a small group for weekly online sessions. These meetings focus on conversation practice and developing your speaking, listening, and vocabulary skills in a relaxed and friendly environment.
You can stay in the program for as little as two months or as long as one year, with the option to extend. It’s flexible, so you can continue as long as it’s helpful for you.
Yes, video is required. Using video helps build trust, keeps the sessions engaging, and ensures a safe and effective learning experience for everyone.
We ask that learners respect their volunteer’s time and make the most of the experience. This includes:
• Attending regular sessions
• Actively participating in conversations
• Communicating clearly and respectfully
• Letting us know if you face any challenges
You can reach out to us anytime by email at tetikst@gmail.com. Whether it’s a question, issue, or suggestion, we’re always happy to hear from you and support you however we can.
That’s completely normal! Many learners feel shy at first, but our volunteers are supportive and patient. The more you practice, the more confident you’ll become.
Not necessarily. At Langum, we focus on spoken fluency rather than whether someone was born speaking English. All of our volunteers are fluent, confident English speakers, and each one is carefully screened to ensure they can communicate clearly and effectively.
If you can’t attend, please let your volunteer know in advance.
Yes — if there’s a valid reason. If your current match isn’t working out due to consistent issues (like poor communication or missed sessions), reach out to us, and we’ll look into a possible rematch.
